And of course, we have events!
This Friday we’ve got our usual Friday Night Magic! Come in with your standard deck and play! This event is growing and growing! See how other players are using the new Scars of Mirrodin in their decks. This month we’re giving out foil Gatekeeper of Malakir cards. Entry is still only $5.00! We begin around 6:00 pm. Yes, we will still be having FNM on Black Friday!
Of course, we still do have Saturday Booster Draft Tournaments. Come in and build your draft deck with Scars of Mirrodin! The entry fee is $15.00, but covers the three boosters you receive and prizes!
The new session of Dungeons & Dragons Encounters has begun! This time we’ve got Keep on the Borderlands! Encounters is run every Wednesday night at 6:00 pm! Come on in and play!
This past Sunday, Joe Sosta came in and ran Invasion From Outer Space. He and the group got in two games and it looks like they had a ton of fun! Special thanks to you, Joe, for coming in and running this demo! We look forward to more in the future!
The 11th of December will see the Dead Gamers Society come in and run their World of Darkness London Fog game! New and experienced players are welcome. Use one of the pre-generated characters available or bring your own Victorian-era beginning level character.
The first Sunday of the month, the Dead Gamers Society comes in and run a Geist game and a Haus of Mirrors game! New players are welcome! And of course, the third Saturday of the month, they come in for their famous Vampire: The Requiem game! Come in and be a blood sucker in the City of Angels!
As we get closer to the holidays, Dicehouse Games usually has a charity event, consisting of games to be played with an entry fee plus an auction. Of course, all proceeds will be going to a certain charity. So we’ve made the decision to go with Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) for this year’s charity. Tuan will be running a Magic the Gathering Standard Tournament on Saturday at 1:00 pm. I will be running some sort of a Savage Worlds RPG adventure on Sunday, probably at 1:00 pm. We are looking for other volunteers to run games as well. If you would like to run a game, we ask that you be able to collect a $5.00 entry fee from all of the players. Also, if you would like to add any in-game bonuses, that would be great. For example, in the Savage Worlds game I will be running, if anyone wants to make a re-roll of the dice, they can do so for a dollar! We will also be having our usual auction at the end of the event on Sunday. So far, we’ve got Privateer Press sending us a signed copy of the Hordes MKII rulebook and signed posters! Chaosium has sent us several RPG books: Call of Cthulhu, Basic Roleplaying, Masks of Nyarlathotep, and The Yith Cycle! Fantasy Flight Games has sent us Warhammer Invasion and Android! Some of the other game companies who have said they will contribute to us is Mayfair Games, ToyVault, Goodman Games, and Cubicle Seven. Possibly even Wizards of the Coast will be sending some stuff our way. So when is this shindig going to happen? December 18th and 19th! I know it’s the weekend before Christmas, but do you really want to be out there shopping? And maybe you can win a game at the auction and give that as a gift? Either way, that weekend will be loads of fun!
So this week, Dicehouse Games was able to get in special orders for five people. That was nine items! Everyone who put in a special order receives a 10% discount. Looking for something we don’t have in stock? Special order it and you too can receive a 10% discount. If we haven’t been able to get your special order, chances are our distributor was out, but I guarantee that we are doing our best to find it from somewhere else!
That’s about it for this week! See you all in seven!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

In a small field, just outside of a sleepy town in 1940′s middle America, Martian Saucers hover in the night sky. Having chosen their first target, a large group of humans gathered around a traveling carnival on the outskirts of town, a legion of Martians march to war. But not all the Humans are defenseless. As the crowds flee in terror and are vaporized by the saucer’s death rays, one brave group of circus performers step forward to defend their planet – Earth’s first line of defense! This will be their greatest performance…and maybe their last. Invasion from Outer Space is a board game from the people who brought you Last Night on Earth. It uses the same mechanic as Last Night on Earth, so both games are compatible. Joe Sosta will be coming in to demo these games on November 21st! Come on in and join the fun. Learn to play. New players are welcome! **Please note, the date has changed from the 14th to the 21st.
The Dead Gamers Society come in the second Sunday of the month (November 14th) to run their monthly Geist Game! Come in for a ghostly good time! They will also be running a World of Darkness Haus of Mirrors this day as well! This is the same game Julie Scott ran at the Rendezvous, but will be ongoing! Woot!
The DGS also come in the third Saturday of the month (November 20th) to run their monthly Vampire game! Become a blood-sucker in the city of angels. The 13th of November will also see the Dead Gamers Society come in and run their World of Darkness London Fog game!
As we get closer to the holidays, Dicehouse Games usually has a charity event, consisting of games to be played with an entry fee plus an auction. Of course, all proceeds will be going to a certain charity. This year, we are either going to be donating to Children’s Hospital of Orange County or Make a Wish Foundation. We will keep you posted on this. We already have a signed copy of Hordes MKII and posters coming in from Privateer Press.
So this week, Dicehouse Games was able to get in special orders for five people. That was six items!

The Rendezvous is a day where they take over Dicehouse Games and run a variety of different roleplaying games throughout the day! So what will they be running on the 24th? 9 different games to fit your fancy! Let me do a little cut and paste for you all!
Update to the Fall RPG Rendezvous at DiceHouse.
Added Games. I’m pleased to announce that Joseph Goodman of Goodman Games will be on hand to run playtests of his upcoming Dungeon Crawl Classics Roleplaying Game. He’ll be running two sessions one in the morning and one in the afternoon and players are welcome to play in both of them.
Joe Goodman is one of the luminaries of the RPG business and Goodman Games is one of the most popular publishers of third party material for Dungeons and Dragons. You can learn more about Goodman Games at their site…

Updates added to the schedule below
The Dead Gamers Society presents the Fall RPG Rendezvous. This is our quarterly micro RPG con at DiceHouse were we play some of todays most intriquing RPG’s, this is our chance to try some non-World of Darkness RPG’s. Think of it like an RPG wine tasting.
To RSVP for these fine games, visit the DGS website at
http://www.meetup.com/Dead-Gamers-Society/
The schedule is as follows.
10:00 am to 2:00pm
-Dungeon Crawl Classics Session 1
Joe Goodman of Goodman Games will be on hand playtesting Dungeon Crawl Classics the Roleplaying Game. Dungeon Crawl Classics brings back the feel and ease of Dungeon and Dragons as it was conceived in it’s early days, inspired by Robert E Howard’s Conan, Fritz Leiber’s Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser and the classics of sword and sorcery.
-A Song of Fire and Ice Roleplaying
Presenting Green Ronin’s Song of Fire and Ice Roleplaying. For years, readers have thrilled to the saga of Westeros as told in George R.R. Martin’s best-selling A Song of Ice and Fire series. Now you can tell your own tales of the Seven Kingdoms and play the game of thrones in A Song of Ice and Fire Roleplaying. This is GM’d by Chris Czerniak.
-World of Darkness: Haus of Mirrors
Like Alice through the looking glass, this game takes you a trip through the World of Darkness like you never seen it before. With the recent publication of World of Darkness Mirrors, the window in which we see the World of Darkness has shattered and we now see a world twisted, frayed and mutated, but no less scary and mysterious. The Haus of Mirrors beckons you, come…enter. This is GM’d by Geist GM, Julie Scott.
-All Flesh Must Be Eaten
All Flesh Must Be Eaten is a roleplaying game set in a world of survival horror. A world where the dead have come back from their graves. You have no clue as to why they have returned but one thing is certain… They crave living flesh! Zombie games never get old and this is one of the best. This game is GM’d by Joe Sosta
3:00pm to 7:00pm
-Dungeon Crawl Classics Session 2
Joe Goodman brings more classic adventuring where stalwart heroes braved dark dungeons in search of treasure and glory.
-Gamma World 4th Edition
The D&D Gamma World Roleplaying Game offers hours of rollicking entertainment in a savage land of adventure, where the survivors of some mythical future disaster must contend with radioactive wastes, ravaged cities, and rampant lawlessness. Against a nuclear backdrop, heroic scavengers search crumbled ruins for lost artifacts while battling mutants and other perils. This is DM’d by Joel Arellano
-Leverage the Roleplaying Game
Based on the popluar TV Shoe, the Leverage Role Playing Game puts you in the middle of a dysfunctional but highly-specialized group of con-artists, criminals, and crooks who are trying to turn over a new leaf. You protect the victims of corporations, mobsters, and corrupt politicians by using your expert skills to outwit and overcome the real bad guys. Using the award-winning Cortex System as its foundation, the Leverage RPG includes all the rules you need to create a team of rogues, plan a job, and get it done… even if it means going to Plan B. This game is GM’d by Tim James
-Savage Worlds: Weird War II
In the horror of war, dark things rise, and World War II is history’s greatest conflict. The Japanese stalk the jungles of Southeast Asia. Carriers battle in the South Pacific. Tanks trundle across North Africa. Planes duel over England. The Nazi blitzkrieg conquers most of Europe with a genocidal madman at the controls. Prepare to battle the evil of the Axis powers and the hideous things that rise in their wake. This isn’t just war-this is Weird War! This game is GM’d by Mike Cantin
-Unknown Armies
In Unknown Armies, players take the roles of movers and shakers in the occult underground, fighting a battle for the ultimate prize: ascension to a higher plane and a hand in creating the next incarnation of reality. Loathsome monsters, bizarre supernatural forces, mind-bending magic, warring cults, and ten thousand bullets — it’s a pulp apocalypse, and the players have front-row seats for the steel-cage death match of all eternity. GM Steve Ramirez will bring his twisted mind for the forey into Unknown Armies
Yes, you read that right. Joseph Goodman will be at Dicehouse Games play testing his new RPG. This is a day you will not want to miss! No, really. You don’t want to miss it at all!
Don’t forget, the Dead Gamers Society comes in every first Sunday of the month to run Geist! And they come back in every third Saturday of the month to run Vampire the Requiem!
So this week, Dicehouse Games was able to get in special orders for seven people.
