So it seems this is a light week, but after last weeks huge amount of new stuff, you deserve a break.

But that doesn’t mean we won’t have any events!

As always, we have our Friday Night Magic coming up tonight! We also have our Saturday Night Booster Draft, this time featuring M11 of course. Looks like we’ve got another Peasant Tournament at 12:00 pm Saturday as well! It seems that those who participated last week had a good time that they want to do it again. We’ve also got the Magic 2011 Game Day coming up August 14th. Main event participants each receive a full-art Liliana’s Spectre card. Top 8 finishers also receive an exclusive full-art Mitiotic Slime prize card.

The Dead Gamers Society comes into the store twice a month to run other White Wolf games. Right now, the first Sunday of the month, Geist is run. They are also planning on starting a Promethian game to be run on the same day as Geist. And on the third Saturday of the month, they come in and run Vampire the Requiem. Although I believe that the Vampire game is over for the summer and they have started new season of Hunter, Werewolf, and Mage. But I’m sure their Facebook page can clarify that!

We still have the Dungeons and Dragons Encounters going on that previews the Dark Sun world coming out soon!If you want a sneak peek or a taste of it, come join in the Encounters game that goes on every Wednesday at 6:00pm. Participate each week in an encounter that’s part of an ongoing campaign, played out over the course of a few months. Plus you’ll earn “renown” points as you defeat enemies, solve puzzles, and complete quests – then get cool, exclusive rewards to use in your future D&D games. The more you play, the greater your renown. Dicehouse Games welcomes Jeff Poole as your Dungeon Master in the Dark Sun Encounters sessions. Each session will start at 6:00 pm and run about two hours every Wednesday night. If you’ve never played D&D before, that’s OK. Beginners are more than welcome. And you don’t need to bring your own character. One will be provided for you. If you have any questions about the Encounters event, you can contact Jeff at perrina39@hotmail.com or call him at 714-742-1086. This campaign of Encounters will be coming to a close at the end of September, but we should hopefully be starting the new set after! We’ll have more details as they come in!

There is also a Voltron tournament this Sunday! Darren Shimasaki will be running this tournament. And the prize will be the limited gold Voltron figure! We will be starting on Sunday at 1:00 pm!

This Sunday is the Dead Gamers Society Rendezvous: Sci-Fi Day! The Dead Gamers Society is one of the biggest, if not THE biggest, gaming group in Orange County. They’re also a nice bunch of people too! They are coming in to run a Sci-Fi Day. Make no mistake, these events they run at Dicehouse are getting bigger and bigger. In fact, this Sunday we’re opening up earlier at 10:00am just so we can get things started off right! Here is the schedule of games to be run through the day:

The Dead Gamers Society will also be coming in June 27th to run another fun day full of gaming! It looks like it will be a Sci-Fi day! That’s right! All games will have a Sci-Fi theme. The games scheduled for Sunday are: Star Wars (from West End Games!), Dark Heresy, Aliens 5 (Savage Worlds). These three will be run from 10:00am (that’s right, we’re opening early) until 2:00pm. We break for lunch for about an hour. Starting at 3:00pm, we’ve got Serenity, Aliens Invade the Drive-In (World of Darkness), and Cthulhu Rising. These three will run until about 7:00pm. Also, word has it that the Dark Heresy game is so popular, a second game might possibly be run in the afternoon! These days are always packed and everyone has a great time.

Also, being that it is the first Sunday of the month, I believe the Dead Gamers Society will be coming in on Sunday to run a Geist game. I haven’t confirmed this yet, but I’m sure someone involved will clarify for me! I hope!
