This Friday we’ve got our usual Friday Night Magic! Come in with your standard deck and play! This event is growing and growing! See how other players are using the new Scars of Mirrodin in their decks. This month we’re giving out foil Gatekeeper of Malakir cards. Entry is still only $5.00! We begin around 6:00 pm.

Of course, we still do have Saturday Booster Draft Tournaments. Come in and build your draft deck with Scars of Mirrodin! The entry fee is $15.00, but covers the three boosters you receive and prizes!

The new session of Dungeons & Dragons Encounters has begun! This time we’ve got Keep on the Borderlands! Encounters is run every Wednesday night at 6:00 pm! Come on in and play!

In a small field, just outside of a sleepy town in 1940′s middle America, Martian Saucers hover in the night sky. Having chosen their first target, a large group of humans gathered around a traveling carnival on the outskirts of town, a legion of Martians march to war. But not all the Humans are defenseless. As the crowds flee in terror and are vaporized by the saucer’s death rays, one brave group of circus performers step forward to defend their planet – Earth’s first line of defense! This will be their greatest performance…and maybe their last. Invasion from Outer Space is a board game from the people who brought you Last Night on Earth. It uses the same mechanic as Last Night on Earth, so both games are compatible. Joe Sosta will be coming in to demo these games on November 21st! Come on in and join the fun. Learn to play. New players are welcome! **Please note, the date has changed from the 14th to the 21st.

The Dead Gamers Society come in the second Sunday of the month (November 14th) to run their monthly Geist Game! Come in for a ghostly good time! They will also be running a World of Darkness Haus of Mirrors this day as well! This is the same game Julie Scott ran at the Rendezvous, but will be ongoing! Woot!

The DGS also come in the third Saturday of the month (November 20th) to run their monthly Vampire game! Become a blood-sucker in the city of angels. The 13th of November will also see the Dead Gamers Society come in and run their World of Darkness London Fog game!

As we get closer to the holidays, Dicehouse Games usually has a charity event, consisting of games to be played with an entry fee plus an auction. Of course, all proceeds will be going to a certain charity. This year, we are either going to be donating to Children’s Hospital of Orange County or Make a Wish Foundation. Looks like we’re leaning towards CHOC. We will keep you posted on this. We already have a signed copy of Hordes MKII and posters coming in from Privateer Press.

Have we got some events coming up for you! Check all this out!

As many of you know, we had our Magic the Gathering: Scars of Mirrodin Pre-Release last weekend. It was another huge turn out! Thank you to everyone who showed up and played! It was a really fun time! And as many of you know, we have a shortage of chairs due to people leaning back in them and breaking. So to those of you who brought in your own chairs, we sincerely thank you! This day was so big that we went through all the boosters that Wizards of the Coast sent to us for the event. We usually have enough to do it all again on Sunday, but not this time. We had nothing left by the end of Saturday! Our fans are the best!

So as for this week, we’ve got the Launch Party going on Saturday! We’ll be doing all the same events! A sealed event starts at 12:00 pm and is $25.00 to enter, but that covers six boosters and prizes! And then we’ll be doing a booster draft in the evening, starting at 6:00 pm.

This Friday is our usual Friday Night Magic! Come in and get warmed up for the Launch Party on Saturday. And we will have Scars of Mirrodin out for sale! We’ll begin at 6:00 pm as usual, and it’s only $5.00 to enter!

And if that wasn’t enough, the Dead Gamers Society will be coming in on the 24th for their famous Dicehouse Rendezvous! “What is that?” you may ask. The Rendezvous is a day where they take over Dicehouse Games and run a variety of different roleplaying games throughout the day! So what will they be running on the 24th? 9 different games to fit your fancy! Let me do a little cut and paste for you all!

This Saturday is the Pre-Release for the new Magic the Gathering set, Scars of Mirrodin! We’ll be starting at 12:00 pm sharp. Entry for this is $25.00 and covers the six boosters you get plus prizes! Saturday night is our Saturday Booster Draft Tournament. Entry for this is $15.00, which covers your three boosters and prizes!

This Saturday, the 18th, we’ll be having a Magic the Gathering Peasant Tournament. Bring in your peasant deck (a deck of nothing but commons except you can use up to five uncommons) and play! Entry is only $3.00 and begins at 1:00 pm!

Next Saturday, we’ve got the prerelease of Scars of Mirrodin! We will starting registration at 11:30 and will promptly start at 1:00! This event always fills up, and we’re taking sign ups now! There is a $25 entry fee, but that covers the 6 boosters you will get and prizes! Not only are we going to be giving out the foil promo card of Wurmcoil Engine, but also other door prizes every round! Then at 6:00 pm, we’ll have our regular booster draft tournament using Scars of Mirrodin! That’s right, you can get more! Looks like there’s going to be a Dark Heresy game along with a War of the Worlds type RPG. We did get an update of some of the other games going to be run, and they are possibly Serenity, a Savage Worlds Aliens (from the movie), Cyberpunk 2020, and Shadowrun. I may have some of these wrong. But if you check out the Dead Gamers Society’s website, they will have everything up do date. These days are always packed and everyone has a great time.

The Dead Gamers Society also comes into the store twice a month to run other White Wolf games. Right now, the first Sunday of the month, Geist is run. And on the third Saturday of the month, they come in and run Vampire the Requiem.

It looks like the Malifaux league has gotten off to a good start. And it’s not too late to join and earn some points!

It looks like the Dungeons & Dragons Encounters had a great turn out! If you missed out, check out what it’s all about. This time the encounters will be featuring the new Dark Sun Campaign Setting coming out this summer! Participate each week in an encounter that’s part of an ongoing campaign, played out over the course of a few months. Plus you’ll earn “renown” points as you defeat enemies, solve puzzles, and complete quests – then get cool, exclusive rewards to use in your future D&D games. The more you play, the greater your renown. Dicehouse Games will be welcoming Jeff Poole as your Dungeon Master in the Dark Sun Encounters sessions. Each session will start at 6:00 pm and run about two hours every Wednesday night. Jeff does ask you show up about 15 minutes ahead of time on the first session in order to get everyone signed up and characters out. If you’ve never played D&D before, that’s OK. Beginners are more than welcome. And you don’t need to bring your own character. One will be provided for you. This event is limited to about 4 to 6 players, so we will be taking sign ups. So if you’re interested (and we are expecting lots of people wanting to participate), please give Dicehouse a call or come in and sign up!

For those of you who are interested in Pathfinder, check this out! Starting Sunday, June 13th, Jesse Burciaga will be running a Pathfinder game in the store. Come on in with a level 1 character or create one in the store with Jesse! We are looking for about 4 or 5 regular players to come in on Sundays and play a regular campaign. So sign up now!
