This Saturday the 7th, we will be having the Magic the Gathering New Phyrexia Pre-Release Event! Be the first to get some cards from the new expansion! It’s only $25 to enter, and that covers your six boosters and prizes! We will also be giving out a foil promo card of Sheoldred, Whispering One! This card is ridiculous! Sign up now! This Saturday at 1:00 pm, we will be having a Magic Peasant tournament. Come in with your standard Magic deck with no more than five uncommon cards and no rare cards. Entry to the tournament is only $3.00.

The new session of Dungeons & Dragons Encounters has begun! Encounters is run every Wednesday night at 6:00 pm! Come on in and play!

The Dead Gamers Society comes in every month to run a few games. Let me tell you, these games are getting bigger and bigger! February will be no different!

This Sunday, the DGS will be coming in to run three games! Mage is one of them. Come in and play a wizard in the modern day! They will also be running Geist! That’s right, that’s short for poltergeist! Come on in for a ghostly good time. And their third game will be Haus of Mirrors! It would be scary of you not to come!

On February 12th, the Dead Gamers Society will be playing their London Fog game. Come play in Victorian London! Always a popular event!

The new session of Dungeons & Dragons Encounters has begun! This time we’ve got Keep on the Borderlands! Encounters is run every Wednesday night at 6:00 pm! Come on in and play!

The 11th of December will see the Dead Gamers Society come in and run their World of Darkness London Fog game! New and experienced players are welcome. Use one of the pre-generated characters available or bring your own Victorian-era beginning level character.

On December 19th, the Dead Gamers Society comes in and run a Geist game and a Haus of Mirrors game! New players are welcome! And of course, the third Saturday of the month, they come in for their famous Vampire: The Requiem game! Come in and be a blood sucker in the City of Angels!

As we get closer to the holidays, Dicehouse Games usually has a charity event, consisting of games to be played with an entry fee plus an auction. Of course, all proceeds will be going to a certain charity. So we’ve made the decision to go with Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) for this year’s charity. Tuan will be running a Magic the Gathering Standard Tournament on Saturday at 1:00 pm. I will be running some sort of a Savage Worlds RPG adventure on Sunday, probably at 1:00 pm. We are looking for other volunteers to run games as well. If you would like to run a game, we ask that you be able to collect a $5.00 entry fee from all of the players. Also, if you would like to add any in-game bonuses, that would be great. For example, in the Savage Worlds game I will be running, if anyone wants to make a re-roll of the dice, they can do so for a dollar! We will also be having our usual auction at the end of the event on Sunday. So far, we’ve got Privateer Press sending us a signed copy of the Hordes MKII rulebook and signed posters! Chaosium has sent us several RPG books: Call of Cthulhu, Basic Roleplaying, Masks of Nyarlathotep, and The Yith Cycle! Fantasy Flight Games has sent us Warhammer Invasion and Android! Some of the other game companies who have said they will contribute to us is Mayfair Games, ToyVault, Goodman Games, and Cubicle Seven. Possibly even Wizards of the Coast will be sending some stuff our way. So when is this shindig going to happen? December 18th and 19th! I know it’s the weekend before Christmas, but do you really want to be out there shopping? And maybe you can win a game at the auction and give that as a gift? Either way, that weekend will be loads of fun!

As the crowds flee in terror and are vaporized by the saucer’s death rays, one brave group of circus performers step forward to defend their planet – Earth’s first line of defense! This will be their greatest performance…and maybe their last. Invasion from Outer Space is a board game from the people who brought you Last Night on Earth. It uses the same mechanic as Last Night on Earth, so both games are compatible. Joe Sosta will be coming in to demo these games on November 21st! Come on in and join the fun. Learn to play. On the 16th, the DGS will be coming in again to start their new fall season of Vampire the Requiem! Be a vampire in the heart of Los Angeles!

And if that wasn’t enough, the Dead Gamers Society will be coming in on the 24th for their famous Dicehouse Rendezvous! “What is that?” you may ask. The Rendezvous is a day where they take over Dicehouse Games and run a variety of different roleplaying games throughout the day! As always, we’ll have Friday Night Magic this Friday. It’s Standard format. Bring in your deck and play! The entry fee is only $5.00! And we’ll be giving out boosters for prizes along with a foil promo card. Qasali Pridemage is this month’s card.

This Saturday is the Pre-Release for the new Magic the Gathering set, Scars of Mirrodin! We’ll be starting at 12:00 pm sharp. Entry for this is $25.00 and covers the six boosters you get plus prizes! And everyone will be getting a special promo card. This event usually fills up, so get here early! We’ll also be giving out other promo cards as well! *NOTE* We already have the maximum amount of pre-sign ups, but we have started a wait list, in case someone doesn’t show up. Give us a call to have us put you on the wait list!

On top of the Pre-Release event, we’ll have a Saturday Booster Draft using the Scars of Mirrodin cards! So if you can’t make it to the Pre-Release, or can’t get in, give the Booster Draft a try! And the hits just keep on coming when it comes to Scars of Mirrodin! The actual set goes on sale Friday, October 1st! But we will be open at midnight on Thursday! And if you buy a full box on the first weekend Scars of Mirrodin is out, you will receive a 10% discount along with the “buy a box promo” card from Wizards of the Coast!

Of course, we will have the Scars of Mirrodin Launch Party on October 2nd! It’s the same details as the Pre-Release. The only difference? You get a different foil promo card!

The new session of Dungeons & Dragons Encounters has begun! This time we’ve got Keep on the Borderlands! Encounters is run every Wednesday night at 6:00 pm! Come on in and play!

The Dead Gamers Society will be here in full swing in October! On Sunday the 10th, they will be running their monthly Geist game! Then on the 16th, they will be starting the new fall season of Vampire the Requiem! If that wasn’t enough, the 24th will be their famous Rendezvous! More details to come on the Rendezvous soon!

So this week, Dicehouse Games was able to get in special orders for nine people. That was fourteen items! Everyone who put in a special order receives a 10% discount. This Sunday is the Dead Gamers Society Rendezvous: Sci-Fi Day! The Dead Gamers Society is one of the biggest, if not THE biggest, gaming group in Orange County. They’re also a nice bunch of people too! They are coming in to run a Sci-Fi Day. Make no mistake, these events they run at Dicehouse are getting bigger and bigger. In fact, this Sunday we’re opening up earlier at 10:00am just so we can get things started off right! Here is the schedule of games to be run through the day:

The D&D Encounters game is still going strong! Dark Sun! That’s right! Dark Sun is coming back! If you want a sneak peek or a taste of it, come join in the Encounters game that goes on every Wednesday at 6:00pm. Participate each week in an encounter that’s part of an ongoing campaign, played out over the course of a few months. Plus you’ll earn “renown” points as you defeat enemies, solve puzzles, and complete quests – then get cool, exclusive rewards to use in your future D&D games. The more you play, the greater your renown. Dicehouse Games welcomes Jeff Poole as your Dungeon Master in the Dark Sun Encounters sessions. Each session will start at 6:00 pm and run about two hours every Wednesday night. If you’ve never played D&D before, that’s OK. Beginners are more than welcome. And you don’t need to bring your own character. One will be provided for you. Jesse’s Pathfinder game is still postponed. But details should be coming soon! Keep your eyes open for it!

Looks like there’s going to be a Dark Heresy game along with a War of the Worlds type RPG. These days are always packed and everyone has a great time.

It looks like the Malifaux league has gotten off to a good start. And it’s not too late to join and earn some points!

We also have the return of Dungeons & Dragons Encounters! This time the encounters will be featuring the new Dark Sun Campaign Setting coming out this summer! Participate each week in an encounter that’s part of an ongoing campaign, played out over the course of a few months. This event is limited to about 4 to 6 players, so we will be taking sign ups. For those of you who are interested in Pathfinder, check this out! Starting Sunday, June 13th, Jesse Burciaga will be running a Pathfinder game in the store. Come on in with a level 1 character or create one in the store with Jesse! We are looking for about 4 or 5 regular players to come in on Sundays and play a regular campaign. So sign up now!
